Final packaging set
Seven logos were created depicting the seven deadly sins as carousel animals to package chocolate bars, a bottle of chocolate syrup, and a box of truffles.
The seven deadly sins are represented through carousel animals to juxtapose the darkness with a symbol of innocence and imagination. The combination of these opposites reflects the way the act of sinning is often viewed as pleasurable, while the cyclical nature of a carousel ties to the cycle of giving into temptation and self-improvement.
Each logo’s animal icon was created using the same 6 circle sizes, and each logo’s typography composition relates to the sin it represents; the first ‘e’ in ‘greed’ scoops up the second to represent the action of taking that greed usually involves, ‘sloth’ sinks down lifelessly while ‘envy’ leans to the side as if its ‘y’ is keeping a watchful eye on someone else, etc.
Imagery relating to each sin is revealed in details in the final illustrations: Gluttony’s pig features plates and silverware embedded into the saddle, Lust’s rabbit incorporates flowers and lace, Pride’s peacock includes mirrors and crowns, and Envy’s snake has eyes intertwined with the scales.
